Anne Marie Jordan

Annemarie Jordan é investigadora do Centro de História d'Aquém e d'Além-Mar (CHAM, Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa) em Lisboa e na Suíça, desde 2010. Doutorada em 1994 pela Brown University, a sua dissertação centrou-se na corte e na coleção de Catarina de Áustria, rainha de Portugal (1507-1578). Entre as suas áreas de especialização incluem-se o mecenato, o colecionismo, de objetos exóticos e de animais, e as Kunstkammern nas cortes de Portugal, Espanha, Áustria e Países Baixos durante o Renascimento. É autora de inúmeras publicações, entre as quais se destacam Retrato de corte em Portugal: O legado de António Moro (1552­-1572) (Lisboa, 1994) e The Story of Süleyman. Celebrity Elephants and other Exotica in Renaissance Portugal (Zurique-Filadélfia, 2010). Teve a seu cargo a curadoria de uma exposição internacional no Museu Rietberg (Zurique) intitulada Ivories of Ceylon. Luxury Goods of the Renaissance (2010), o que levou o governo português a distingui-la em 2011 com a Ordem do Infante D. Henrique.
