Anne Holt was born in Norway and spent her childhood between her native country and the United States of America; today she lives in Oslo. She is the most successful Scandinavian author of crime novels. Her works have sold over four million copies and occupy top spots on Scandinavian bestseller lists. Some of her books have been adapted into television series and films. She has been awarded prizes as important as the Riverton Prize (the most prestigious award for crime fiction in Norway), the Booksellers Award (Norway's most prestigious literary award), and the Cappelen Prize.
