Anne Holt nasceu na Noruega e passou a sua infância entre o seu país natal e os Estados Unidos da América; hoje em dia vive em Oslo. É a autora escandinava de livros policiais de maior sucesso. As suas obras já venderam mais de quatro milhões de cópias e ocupam os primeiros lugares das listas de best-sellers escandinavas. Alguns dos seus livros deram origem a séries de televisão e fi lmes. Foram-lhe atribuídos prémios tão importantes como o Prémio Riverton (o mais prestigiado para a literatura policial da Noruega), o Prémio Booksellers (o prémio literário com maior destaque da Noruega) e o Prémio Cappelen.
