Andréa del Fuego nasceu em São Paulo, Brasil, em 1975.
Com o seu primeiro romance, Os Malaquias (2010), venceu o Prémio Literário José Saramago.
Publicou ainda as coletâneas de contos Minto enquanto posso (2004), Nego tudo (2005), Enganoseu (2007) e o romance As miniaturas (2013), além de vários livros infantis e juvenis. A sua obra está traduzida e publicada em diversos países, entre os quais Alemanha, Suécia, Argentina, Itália, França, Israel e Roménia.
O romance A pediatra marca a estreia da autora na Companhia das Letras Portugal.
