André Canhoto Costa nasceu em Oeiras em 1978. Estudou na Universidade de Évora e concluiu a licenciatura na FCSH da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Foi bolseiro no Instituto de Ciências Sociais e doutorou-se em História Económica no ISEG da Universidade de Lisboa. Publicou vários livros, entre os quais Os Vícios dos Escritores, 2017, e As Cinco Grandes Revoluções da História de Portugal, 2019. Escreve para a Revista LER e tem desde 2017 uma rubrica semanal, «Crónicas Portuguesas», na RDP. Escreveu um dos volumes da coleção Portugal, Uma Retrospetiva, Público/Tinta-da-china, 2019. A Quetzal publicou o seu romance Como Sobreviver depois da Morte e o extraordinário ensaio A Corte das Mulheres.
