Ana Zanatti nasceu em Lisboa em 1949. Ao longo de 54 anos tem exercido a atividade de atriz no teatro, cinema e televisão e foi, em simultâneo, durante 26 anos, apresentadora da RTP. Autora e coautora de canções, programas de rádio e televisão, documentários e séries, tradutora de peças de teatro, publicou o primeiro romance em 2003. Tem contos e poemas publicados em diversas antologias e colaborou com jornais e revistas, desde o extinto semanário SETE à revista literária Os meus livros, e às revistas Biosofia, Elle e Egoísta, entre outras.
Dedica-se a causas como a Condição Feminina (em 1984 foi uma das 25 mulheres escolhidas para representar Portugal, em Bruxelas, pela Comissão da Condição Feminina da CEE), Defesa dos Direitos LGBT, Conservação da Natureza e Defesa do Ambiente, Defesa dos Direitos Humanos e dos Animais. Recebeu os Prémios Rede Ex Aequo em 2009 e 2012 e o Prémio Arco-Íris em 2011.
