Ana Plácido (Porto, 27 de setembro de 1831 - São Miguel de Seide, 20 de setembro de 1895) fez a sua estreia literária com Luz Coada por Ferros, em 1863, a que se seguiu, em 1872, sob pseudónimo masculino, o romance Herança de Lágrimas (Sibila Publicações, 2019). Publicou contos e poemas em diversos jornais e revistas de Portugal e do Brasil, tendo-se também dedicado intensamente à tradução literária e à colaboração na vasta obra do marido, Camilo Castelo Branco (quer na escrita, quer na revisão).
