Ana Nunes Almeida

Ana Nunes de Almeida received her PhD in Sociology in 1991 from ISCTE. She is currently a coordinating researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences and President of its Scientific Council. She coordinates the InterUniversity PhD in Sociology, OpenSoc - Knowledge for Open and Inclusive Societies (consortium that integrates ICS, ISCSP and ISEG - ULisboa, FCSH da Nova, IIFA da UEvora and the Faculty of Economics of UAlg). She is a member of the Bureau of the Comité de Recherche Sociologie de l'Enfance of the Association Internationale des Sociologues de Langue Française, as well as of the Board of the Research Network Childhood of the European Sociological Association. Among his favorite scientific objects are family, childhood and school. He is currently developing research in the area of children's crops and catastrophes, children and animals.
