Ana Cristina Pereira é mestre em História Moderna pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, tendo apresentado a sua dissertação sobre «Princesas e Infantas de Portugal: 1636-1736», onde analisou as relações familiares e de poder entre os vários elementos femininos da casa real portuguesa, não só as princesas legítimas como as infantas legitimadas.
É coautora dos livros: Amantes dos Reis de Portugal, Amantes dos Reis de França, A Vida Privada dos Bragança e Duquesas e Marquesas de Portugal.
