Amorim de Carvalho

Amorim de Carvalho (1904-1976), poeta, esteta e filósofo, é a maior compleição crítica portuguesa. Meticuloso na análise, a sua inteligência apresenta-se igualmente preparada para as largas sínteses.
Na teoria da estética, ele chamou insistentemente a atenção para os valores de realidade e a inteligibilidade, para uma firme valorização do que denominou: nomia estética. A sua obra veio, pois, a redundar em vigorosa oposição ao chamado «modernismo». Não houve, em nenhum país, naquele domínio do conhecimento, uma teorização tão sistematizada e fundamentada científica e filosóficamente como a sua.
