Alison Gopnik
Alison Gopnik, professor of psychology and associate professor of philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, is one of the world's leading experts on the study of learning and child development, and was the first to argue that children's minds can help us understand profound philosophical questions. She is one of the creators of the "theory of mind," which clarifies how children understand the minds of others. Author of over a hundred articles, she has published several books including *Words, Thoughts and Theories* (co-authored with Andrew Meltzoff, 1997), *The Scientist in the Crib* (co-authored with Andrew Meltzoff and Patricia Kuhl, 1999), and *The Philosopher Baby* (published by Temas e Debates and Círculo de Leitores in 2010).
