Alice Machado

Nascida em Trás-os-Montes, em 1960, vive em França há mais de 20 anos. Tem um mestrado em Arte e Civilização Latino-Americana e um doutoramento em Literaturas Modernas da Universidade de Paris VIII. Embora escreva em francês, continua a considerar o português a sua língua-mãe. Os seus romances "O Vale dos Heróis" (2000) e "A Cor da Ausência" (2001) estão traduzidos em português, ambos pela Europa-América; no domínio da poesia publicou já "Horas Azuis" (2002) e "A Agitação dos Sonhos" (2004) na editora Campo das Letras. Foi a primeira mulher a receber a medalha de honra do Parlamento português em reconhecimento da sua obra literária; recentemente, recebeu também o prémio LABEL da revista Elle e o Prémio da Assembleia Nacional Francesa.
