Alfredo Pita

Alfredo Pita nasceu em 1948 em Celendín, norte do Peru.
Foi jornalista e, na década de 1980, no início do terror no Peru, cobriu as notícias em Ayacucho, o centro da violência. Atualmente mora em Paris. O seu romance O Caçador Ausente foi premiado com o Prémio Internacional Las Dos Orillas em Gijon (Espanha), garantindo a publicação simultânea em Espanha, França, Portugal, Alemanha, Itália e Grécia. Também escreveu coleções de contos: Y de pronto anochece (1987) e Morituri (1991), e de poesia: Hacia los valles (1967) e Sandalias del viento - Cuadernos secretos de Rafael Devalera (1996.
No Peru, recebeu o Prémio Poeta Joven (1966) e o Prémio Notícias concedido pela revista Caretas (1986, 1991).
