Alfredo Costa

Born in Macinhata do Vouga on September 2, 1921, Alfredo Costa was a happy and optimistic child, and this trait served as a shield against certain adversities.
His main passions were knowing the names of all the birds and observing them, knowing the names of the aquatic species in the Vouga River, getting to know the surrounding trees, and also knowing the geographical contours of the river.
It was in these places where, with other children of his time, he would bathe and gather tiny wildflowers.
Even today he often visits the places where he ran and jumped - but he sees with some sadness that nothing is the same.
He is the author of several essays, and now "The Border Between Two Lives" has been published by Papiro Editora.
