Alex MacLeod é professor no departamento de Ciências Políticas da Universidade do Quebec, em Montreal, e diretor do CEPES — Centre d’études pluridisciplinaires en sécurité et société. As suas áreas de investigação principais são a segurança da Europa Ocidental, as políticas europeias de segurança e defesa, as políticas internacionais e de segurança em França (onde fez o doutoramento) e no Reino Unido, e as teorias das relações internacionais e da segurança. É autor e coautor de vários livros e publicações dedicados a estes temas.
