Conselheiro Científico na Delegação da Itália junto das organizações internacionais em Paris e professor de Física Experimental em Pádua e em Lisboa, Alessandro de Angelis é membro dos institutos nacionais italianos de Física Nuclear e de Astrofísica. Projetou e realizou algumas das experiências mais importantes para o estudo dos raios cósmicos. Escreveu vários ensaios, entre os quais Discorsi e di mostrazioni matematiche di Galileo Galilei per il lettore moderno (Codice, 2021) e Galileo e la supernova del 1604 (Catelvecchi, 2021).
