Alberto Pimentel nasceu no Porto a 14 de abril de 1849.
Com uma obra extensa e variada, escreveu poesia, romance, teatro, biografia, obras políticas, entre outros géneros.
Camilo Castelo Branco – que conheceu pessoalmente, prefaciou dois dos seus livros e é matéria de algumas das suas obras – é o seu ídolo e o seu Mestre.
Morreu em Queluz no dia 19 de julho de 1925.
