Alberto Bessa

Alberto Bessa [1861-1938] - Escritor e jornalista, fundou e dirigiu diversos periódicos tanto no Porto (cidade natal), como em Lisboa. Na capital, foi ainda cofundador da Associação da Imprensa Portuguesa. A sua obra contempla teatro, poesia, crítica literária, mas dela se destacam particularmente os estudos sobre jornalismo e imprensa. O livro O jornalismo. Esboço histórico da sua origem e desenvolvimento até aos nossos dias é considerado a primeira História do Jornalismo (nacional e internacional) publicada em Portugal.
