Akira Toriyama Toriyama Akira, (Nagoya, 5 de abril de 1955 – 1 de março de 2024) foi um autor japonês de mangá, conhecido por ser o criador de séries como Dragon Ball e Dr. Slump.
Reconhecido em todo o mundo pela sua narrativa divertida e inovadora e pelo estilo humorístico. Akira surgiu no mangá em 1980 com o popular Dr. Slump, uma comédia de ficção sobre as aventuras de um cientista louco e a sua "filha" andróide. Entre 1984 (ano em que foi criado) e 1995, Dragon Ball série seria publicado na revista de mangá mais vendida da Shueisha: a Weekly Shonen Jump, sendo posteriormente traduzido por todo o mundo. Depois dessa data, trabalhou também em algumas séries mais curtas, incluindo Cowa!, Kajika, Sand Land, e Neko Majin, assim como no livro para crianças, Toccio the Angel. Akira Toriyama é também conhecido pelo seu trabalho de design em jogos de vídeo, especialmente na série RPG Dragon Warrior.
