Ailton Krenak (n. 1953) é um dos mais respeitados ativistas de uma longa história de resistência aborígene e, em 2023, foi o primeiro ameríndio eleito para a Academia Brasileira de Letras. Viu o território do seu povo ser atingido por catástrofes ambientais resultantes da ação de empresas mineradoras, que denuncia como exemplo dos efeitos da voraz exploração do planeta pelo ser humano.
