Adélaïde de Clarmont-Tonnerre nasceu em Neuilly-sur-Seine, a 20 de março de 1976. Educada num meio artístico, estudou na Escola Normal Superior de Paris. Fourrure, a primeira obra publicada em 2010, recebeu vários prémios literários, entre os quais o Maison de La Presse, Françoise Sagan e Bel Ami, e foi finalista dos conceituados prémios Renaudot e Goncourt (Primeiro Romance).

Jornalista e escritora, é atualmente chefe de redação da revista Le Point e participa em vários programas de rádio e de televisão. O Último dos Nossos é o seu segundo romance, vencedor do Grande Prémio do Romance da Academia Francesa e finalista do Grande Prémio do Romance Elle.
