A. M. Homes nasceu nos Estados Unidos em 1961. A sua obra está publicada em todo o mundo e figura frequentemente em publicações como The New Yorker, Granta e The New York Times. Colabora na revista Vanity Fair e escreve também para a Bomb e a Blind Spot. Foi ainda galardoada com o Prémio Benjamin Franklin, o Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis e, já em 2013, vencedora do Women’s Prize for Fiction.
Os direitos para a adaptação ao cinema de Este Livro Vai Salvar a Sua Vida foram já comprados.
Vive actualmente em Nova Iorque.
