A.J. Rich é o pseudónimo da dupla formada por Amy Hempel e Jill Ciment.
Amy Hempel, autora galardoada, é conhecida pelas suas coletâneas de contos. Em 2006, a sua obra Collected Stories foi considerada um dos dez livros do ano pelo New York Times. Atualmente dá aulas de Escrita em Bennington College e na Universidade da Florida, e faz parte do conselho de administração de duas organizações sem fins lucrativos que visam ajudar cães maltratados. Divide o seu tempo entre Gainesville (Florida) e Nova Iorque.
Jill Ciment, também autora de contos, romances e um livro de memórias, foi premiada inúmeras vezes pelas suas obras. É professora na Universidade da Florida, e reside em Brooklyn, Nova Iorque, e também em Gainesville, na Florida.
