Alberto Gomes de Castro, é engenheiro químico, doutorado em Física e Química Macromolecular pela Universidade de Estrasburgo e doutor ès-Sciences pela Universidade de Paris. Trabalhou como investigador em diferentes instituições de países comunitários e foi docente na Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. Actualmente é presidente do conselho científico do ISEIT de Mirandela, Instituto Piaget.
