António Betâmio de Almeida. Docente e consultor técnico em diversas áreas da engenharia (hidráulica, energia, recursos hídricos e ambiente). Tem desenvolvido intensa actividade nas áreas da segurança de infra-estruturas e dos riscos tecnológicos e naturais. É Professor Emérito da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa (Instituto Superior Técnico) e membro eleito da Academia de Engenharia de Portugal. Conjugando exemplarmente a vida académica com a actividade profissional, nas quais sempre alcançou a excelência técnica e científica, é uma referência nacional nestes domínios e é reconhecido como um investigador de topo a nível mundial.
