Hans Christian Andersen

Danish writer, born in 1805 and died in 1875, he is the most well-known author of fairy tales worldwide. While his plays, novels, poems, travel books, and many biographies are only known in Denmark, his "Fairy Tales" (1835-1872) have been translated into many languages. Among the most famous are "The Ugly Duckling," "The Little Mermaid," and "The Snow Queen."

But Andersen wrote more than 156 fairy tales, autobiographies, novels, plays, poetry, and travelogues. All of his work was aimed at both children and adults. His creations are still a source of inspiration and new reflections today.

H.C. Andersen was and remains an unsurpassed poet. His work is fascinating for its breadth and for having been translated into numerous languages. This popularity reflects the unique ability of his poetry to evoke deep emotions in his readers, regardless of age, gender, or culture.

His literary output, comprising travelogues, poems, novels, and dramas, is undoubtedly remarkable for its abundance and quality.
