"All is well, that ends well!"

maria do ceu lage pereira

"The nazis aren't touched by Jewish tears!"- fifteen year old Clara realized that the quiet life she had in her hometown was over. After the nazis invaded the Polish town of Zolkiew, Clara and her family along with so many other Jewish families looked for shelter so that they could survive. Help came from an unexpected Volksdeutsche who was believed to be an anti-semite. This man and his family faced risky situations to protect Jews in need. This unexpected hero supported the Jews hidding in the bunker under his house and whenever perilous events happened, he sang the lyrics "All is well, that ends well...". Reading this book is a humanly enriching experience. At the end of the story, you'll feel the need to hold Mr. Beck, Ala, Julia, Mania,Clara, Sol, Zygush and the other refugees. You will want to to hold them for their unexpected heroism, for their courage, their dramatic faith in humanity, their desperate love for life...

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Clara Kramer
