Raymond Carver
Raymond Carver nasceu no Oregon em 1938. Casou-se muito cedo, o que o obrigou a relegar a escrita para segundo plano para poder sustentar a família. Publicou regularmente em revistas, mas só começou a ser conhecido com Will you Please be Quiet, Please? O livro que o consagrou foi De Que Falamos Quando Falamos de Amor, que, sabe-se hoje, é uma versão drasticamente editada de Beginners — o conjunto de contos originais que Carver apresentou à Alfred A. Knopf e que a Quetzal agora publica com o título O Que Sabemos do Amor. Um dos maiores contistas norte-americanos do século XX, Raymond Carver foi também poeta e ensaísta.
