Lewis R. Gordon, de origem afro-judia, é filósofo, politólogo, músico e diretor do departamento de filosofia na Universidade do Connecticut.
Foi professor da Associação Caribenha de Filosofia.
O seu trabalho está publicado em países de todo o mundo, de que se destacam Disciplinary Decadence, Her Majesty's Other Children, e, em colaboração com Jane Anna Gordon, Of Divine Warning.
