AJ is a real-life six-year-old transgender girl who has just started living her life as her true self. At school, she gets bullied and experiences some day-to-day challenges like when she uses the girl''s washroom or has to change for gym class by herself, but the love she gets from her family and her special group of friends helps her get through the day.

Her group of friends is also known as The Super You Sparkle Crew. They believe our superpowers come from what makes us unique as individuals combined with the love and support we get and share with others. AJ uses her superpowers to give her confidence when mean kids yell at her for using the girl''s bathroom, to cheer up her friend Tommy when he gets bullied for being a transgender boy and when a new student feels left out because he''s one of the smart kids.
