Lois Lowry

Lois Lowry é conhecida pela sua versatilidade e criatividade como escritora, sendo autora de mais de 30 livros para jovens. Nasceu no Havai, mas viveu em diversos locais dos Estados Unidos e também no Japão. Casou-se cedo e, durante muito tempo, dedicou-se quase exclusivamente à família. Só mais tarde se voltou para a escrita profissional. Venceu, entre muitos outros prémios, duas medalhas Newbery por O Número das Estrelas e por The Giver.
Vive no nordeste dos EUA, numa quinta do século XVIII.
