During the summertime, seedlings were planted so they could grow into larger trees. The new seedlings were watered, and Mr. Powell’s two dogs would keep them company. Kristen learned the most common type of seedling planted was the Scotch pine because the branches were strong and good for holding ornaments.

Although seedlings are planted during the summertime, the big season begins on Thanksgiving weekend. It’s fun to see families come out to choose their tree and to see which one they actually choose.
