Embracing Autism – A mother And Son’s Journey is a recount of a mother and son’s story from the first indication and the ensuing recognition that something might not be as it should be. It follows the early stages that lead to the first diagnosis of autism and the slowly dawning realisation of what might be the future. 
It covers early intervention, school challenges, friends, sports, earthquakes, relocating, divorce and entering into his “tweens”. It also covers the, at times, overwhelming frustration experienced by parents and child.
It envelops the funny, qwerky, sad, angry and hopeful side of autism as seen by a mother who just wants her son to be the best he can and be as equipped as possible to deal with this ever-changing confusing world as he navigates his way through it. 
It embraces the differences and celebrates one Child’s journey with his mother as they deal with the constant and sometimes unexpected challenges life throws at them. There is no cure but there is understanding, there is management and above all there is love.
