SOBRE O AUTOR

Nora Ephron

Nora Ephron nasceu em Nova Iorque, filha de dois argumentistas de cinema, Henry e Phoebe Ephron. Licenciou-se em jornalismo pela Faculdade Wellesley (Massachusetts) e pouco depois, tornava-se repórter do New York Post, experiência que serviu de base ao seu romance Scribble Scribble.
Mais tarde, trabalhou para as revistas Esquire, New York e Rolling Stone, tornando-se uma das jornalistas mais conhecidas nos EUA durante a década de 70. Nessa época começou também a publicar ensaios, dos quais Wallflower at the Orgy é a primeira colectânea.
A sua estreia como realizadora de cinema deu-se em 1992, com o filme This is My Life, do qual foi igualmente autora do argumento. Silkwood, Um Amor Inesquecível (When Harry Met Sally) e Sintonia de Amor (Sleepless in Seattle), filme que também dirigiu, valeram-lhe três nomeações para o Óscar de o Melhor Argumento Original. Casei com Uma Feiticeira (Bewitched), foi o seu mais recente trabalho como realizadora.
Vive actualmente em Nova Iorque com o seu marido, o jornalista e argumentista Nicholas Pileggi.
