Ian Fleming
Ian Lancaster Fleming (1908-1964), nascido na aristocracia inglesa, foi o escritor e jornalista que criou a personagem James Bond, mais conhecido como Agente 007. Aquando do início da Segunda Guerra Mundial, começou a trabalhar como correspondente no jornal londrino Times e na agência de notícias Reuters, em lugares "imprevisíveis" como Berlim e Moscovo. Foi justamente na cidade russa que travou conhecimento com a arte da espionagem. Algum tempo depois, já fascinado pela ideia, ingressou no Serviço Secreto da Marinha Inglesa e, tal como a sua ilustre personagem, chegou ao posto de comandante, experiência que o ajudou a tornar-se rapidamente um dos autores mais empolgantes e prolíficos da história das novelas de espionagem. Fleming criou um ícone dos anos da Guerra Fria; foi uma questão de tempo para que o tema da espionagem e o agente secreto mais sedutor e perigoso chegassem ao cinema. Ian Fleming morreu de ataque cardíaco em Kent, Inglaterra, a 12 de Agosto de 1964.
