Antes de começar a escrever livros, Jenny McLachlan era professora de Inglês numa escola secundária. Embora gostasse muito de ensinar adolescentes cheios de piada (e de aproveitar algumas das coisas que eles diziam para enriquecer os livros dela), Jenny achou que escrever sobre eles a tempo inteiro era bem mais divertido.
