The Working Lives Of Prison Managers

This book offers the first ethnographic account of working prison managers in England. It explores how globalised changes, in particular managerialism, have intersected with local occupational cultures. The study considers the pressures and expectations upon managers and how these are experienced, understood and negotiated.
