Shakespeare, Plautus And The Humanist Tradition

Riehle argues that the genius of Shakespeare has tended to obscure the writers who influenced him and through him European culture. Using dramaturgic, comparative and historical methods, Riehle demonstrates how "The Comedy of Errors" is related to its Plautine sources "Menaechmi" and "Amphitruo".
