Ramirez gives a rather unique and clear-eyed view inside the life, times and thoughts of a young Chicano who joins the Marines and goes to Vietnam to find his destiny. Having always believed he would die there, he survived, but at tremendous cost, and surveys the toll borne by both flesh and spirit.
