Improbable Connections tells the story of a young English pilgrim, Elisabeth Tilley. It includes touching scenes between Elisabeth and Rembrandt van Rijn; exciting descriptions of the Mayflower crossing; the settlement and hardships at Plymouth; and Elisabeth's developing relationship with John Howland, whom she married before her 16th birthday.
