SOBRE O AUTOR
V. S. Naipaul
PRÉMIO NOBEL DA LITERATURA 2001
Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul nasceu em Trinidade, em 1932. Passou a viver em Inglaterra em 1950, onde estudou, em Oxford. É autor de uma riquíssima obra de ficção e não ficção, tendo alcançado, depois de vários prémios, o mais alto galardão literário. Em 1990, V.S. Naipaul foi ordenado Cavaleiro, pelo seu serviço prestado à Literatura, e em 2001 recebeu o Prémio Nobel da Literatura.
