Compassion is often confused with pity or self-sacrifice. It takes strength and delicacy and doesn't mean giving away your life savings. Self compassion can be the place between pushing through and giving up, the moment we recognize our true needs. I was taking the leap to Sri Lanka, to a new understanding of compassion and self compassion.
