The late sixties' troubles in Belfast and Kate volunteers for a kibbutz in Israel. She becomes attracted to Amos, a family man, when the Six-Day-War breaks out. Losing his best friend in action, Amos feels his love for Kate is strong and breaks with his wife, Miriam. Kate realises that having fled one conflict, she is now involved in another.
