Art Nouveau: Paris 1895

Art Nouveau conquered Europe in the 1890s, reshaping the decorative arts. This new art exuberantly declared its independence of tradition, relying entirely on original forms inspired by nature. Its signature was the serpentine line, winding its way over building facades, furniture, ceramics and other objets d´art - and these French textile designs incorporating plants and animals.
