A Midshipman'S Tale

During WWII the island of Malta was besieged and by 1942 was running out of food, fuel and ammunition. A convoy of merchant ships was dispatched, protected by a large British Naval escort. On board one of the battleships was a 17-year-old midshipman called Michael MccGwire. This is the account of 'Operation Pedestal' from his Midshipman's Journal.
