Nine Inch Nails, led by multi-instrumentalist and producer Trent Reznor, is an American band known for their innovative sound and their blend of industrial, electronic, and experimental rock. In the following years, Nine Inch Nails continued to explore new musical directions. With Teeth (2005) brought a more direct and accessible sound, while Year Zero (2007) incorporated elements of a dystopian conceptual narrative, exploring political and social themes.

In 2013, the band released Hesitation Marks, which marked a return to form and featured a combination of electronic textures and aggressive guitars. The album received praise for its balance between innovation and affordability.

Nine Inch Nails also has a notable reputation for its intense and live visuals. The band's live performances are often praised for their energy and the integration of visual and sound elements that enhance the musical experience.

In addition to his work with Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor, along with Atticus Ross, gained recognition as a soundtrack composer, receiving several awards, including the Academy Award for the soundtrack to The Social Network (2010).
