Marco Paulo, born João Simão da Silva on January 21, 1945 in Mourão, is one of the most emblematic singers of Portuguese popular music. His career began in the 1970s and, since then, he has become an iconic figure, known for his powerful voice and romantic style. Marco Paulo has won over audiences with songs that speak of love and deep feelings, some of his best-known songs being "Eu Tenho Dois Amores", "Anita", "Taras e Manias" and "Morena, Morenita".

Throughout his career, spanning more than five decades, Marco Paulo has sold over 4.5 million records, an impressive feat that includes more than 140 gold, silver, and platinum records. His first major hit was "Canção Proibida" in 1978, which earned him his first gold record, followed by several other hits that solidified his position in Portuguese music.

Besides music, Marco Paulo had a significant presence on television, where he stood out as a presenter. His charisma and ability to connect with the public were fundamental to his success in both music and television. In 1993, he began presenting the program "Eu Tenho Dois Amores" (I Have Two Loves), which became a hit, further increasing his notoriety.
