ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Haunted

The Haunted is a Swedish metal band formed in 1996 in Gothenburg. Known for their aggressive sound, the band is often associated with the thrash metal and melodic death metal genres. Founding members included former members of the influential Swedish band At The Gates, such as brothers Anders and Jonas Björler (guitarist and bassist, respectively) and guitarist Patrik Jensen (also known for his participation in the band Witchery). Vocalist Peter Dolving and drummer Adrian Erlandsson completed the original line-up.

The band's debut album, The Haunted (1998), was well received, establishing the band as a new force in extreme metal. Their signature sound combines the brutality and speed of thrash metal with the melody and technique of melodic death metal, resulting in a powerful and intense sound. The band continued to evolve with albums such as Made Me Do It (2000) and rEVOLVEr (2004), which cemented their status on the global metal scene.

Over the years, The Haunted has gone through several line-up changes, with Peter Dolving leaving and returning to the band, and the replacement of members such as the drummer. However, the band has maintained its intensity and relevance over the decades.

The Haunted is recognized for its ability to create songs with cutting riffs, aggressive vocals and raw energy, remaining one of the most important bands in the Swedish metal scene. His work is celebrated by thrash metal fans and admirers of melodic death metal alike.
