Status Quo

Os Status Quo são uma banda britânica de rock formada em 1962, em Londres, inicialmente sob o nome The Scorpions, e posteriormente The Spectres, antes de adotar o nome definitivo em 1967. A formação clássica da banda incluiu Francis Rossi (vocalista e guitarrista), Rick Parfitt (guitarrista e vocalista), Alan Lancaster (baixista) e John Coghlan (baterista). Conhecidos pelo seu estilo inconfundível de boogie rock, marcado por riffs simples e repetitivos, os Status Quo tornaram-se uma das bandas de rock mais populares e duradouras do Reino Unido.

O grande sucesso dos Status Quo começou com o single "Pictures of Matchstick Men" em 1968, que alcançou sucesso tanto no Reino Unido como nos Estados Unidos. A música, com o seu som psicadélico, marcou o início da ascensão da banda. No entanto, foi durante a década de 1970 que os Status Quo encontraram o seu som característico de boogie rock, que os catapultou para o sucesso contínuo. Álbuns como Piledriver (1972), Hello!
