ABOUT THE ARTIST

The Black Keys

The Black Keys are an American rock band formed in 2001 in Akron, Ohio by musicians Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). Known for their raw sound and influenced by blues, rock and garage rock, the band stood out from the beginning for their minimalist and direct approach, being one of the main representatives of the rock renaissance in the early 2000s. The simplicity and energy of their songwriting, coupled with a strong base of blues influences, helped The Black Keys build a loyal fan base and make them one of the most successful bands in contemporary rock.

The band's debut album, The Big Come Up (2002), was recorded on a small budget and featured a raw, uncomplicated sound, with tracks like "I'll Be Your Man" and "Heavy Soul" defining the band's signature style of blues rock and garage rock. The sound of The Black Keys was intimate and full of energy, with Auerbach demonstrating impressive guitar skill and his raspy voice conveying emotion and intensity.

In 2004, the band released Rubber Factory, which was an important step in their career. The album featured more polished production and songs such as "10 A.M. Automatic" and "Just Couldn't Tie Me Down", which continued to showcase the fusion of blues and alternative rock. With this work, The Black Keys began to attract a larger audience, consolidating themselves as one of the main bands in the underground scene.

The success of The Black Keys reached new heights with the release of Brothers (2010), a critically acclaimed and commercially successful album. Produced by Danger Mouse (Brian Burton), the album featured songs such as "Tighten Up" and "Howlin' for You", which became radio hits and won several awards, including Grammys. The Brothers' sound continued to fuse dirty rock and blues, but with a greater diversity of influences, incorporating elements of soul, funk and classic rock.

In 2011, The Black Keys continued their rise with El Camino, an even more polished and catchy album that brought global success with tracks like "Lonely Boy" and "Gold on the Ceiling." The album was both a critical and commercial success, cementing the band as one of the greatest of its generation. With their energetic style and distinctive sound, The Black Keys have come to be considered one of the pillars of modern rock.

Over the years, The Black Keys have continued to release successful albums, such as Turn Blue (2014) and Let's Rock (2019), while remaining relevant in the contemporary music scene. With a career marked by sonic innovations and an authentic approach to music, the band continues to be one of the main references in modern rock, with a legion of fans around the world and a legacy that remains strong in the music industry.
